Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of traveling to many U.S. cities and a few European ones for work, and a little pleasure. Along the way, I make it a point to find great places to sample some of the local culture through dining. I have three criteria: 1) Unless it is a local chain, I will not eat at a chain restaurant. 2) It can be a dive or high end, but it cannot be more than $50 total per person including a glass of wine, and 3) I want to experience restaurants that locals love. I admit to a soft place in my palate for hipster experiences that emphasize local and organic offerings. I make a few exceptions, as you will see, but for the most part the restaurants I review below are those that were carefully chosen before I experienced them, and they should work for you too.
If you travel for work or pleasure, and you like the kind of restaurants that fit my criteria, I welcome you to access my list. It’s an ongoing project, but you will find options in most major U.S. cities here. Restaurants are categorized by city. Enjoy!
